Today has been a lovely day! Tis rare that Mark gets a Sunday off work, so we made the most of our day together!

Highlight of the day was a visit to the delightful White Rabbit Tearooms! Such a beautifully, quaint place!

*swoon* I felt like I was in tearoom heaven, it really is perfect! We only had time for a quick cuppa, but have made plans to go back and try the food, I'll be sure to to post a review when we do!

Tuesday Treats!

Brr, it's so cold/wet/windy outside, so today has been spent at home, curled up with Mark and Elvis! :D Perfect for watching our favourite shows and searching the internet for treats!

I wanted to tell you about the most beautiful shop! Rhymes With Orange has just been opened by Stefanie and Erin of Oh So Lovely Vintage.

*swoon* How I wish I was close enough to actually visit!

I just adore the displays! So cheery and playful!

Those scalloped shelves are amazing! I might have to get get Mark to work similar magic on the shelves in our house!

Even behind the counter is beautiful! Their attention to detail is excellent! I really wish them all the best in their new adventure, and am so inspired to work on my own business!

Wednesday Wishes #7

Brrrrrrrr! The weather here has taken a cold turn, and my evenings are spent snuggling with Mark and Elvis trying to keep warm!

VitalTemptation have created this beautiful scarf, which makes me feel cozy just to look at it!

Fingerless gloves are the way forward for me. Although I love the warmth from gloves, I still like to be able to use my fingers...how else could I text and get mints out the packet! (I'm never without my extra strong mints, especially when wlaking anywhere!) Wildcatdesigns also make awesome skinny scarves, and you can even get a custom colour way made! (Mint Green, Fuchsia and Choclate Brown for me!) You can also following her lovely blog!

littlegoodall have made my dream coat....but alas, only in child size! I'd love to have this made for me and go walking through lots of fallen leaves! Good times!

Curiosity Haus - now with added Stitches....and stars!

Curiosity.haus is a house for Contemporary Craft and Design. Curiosity.haus have both an ‘online craft fair‘ and organise indie-markets in Nottingham, helping to showcase local and national designer talent and encourage promotion of independent and quality handmade goods.

Coming up they have an epic event planned for Saturday 29th October! Not only will there be the craft fair but also a beer festival! So you can look forward to handmade treats, vintage clothes, accessories, jewellery, textiles, ceramics, homewares, Oxfam Vintage Boutique's Autumn Winter collections, cakes, live music, real ale, food....what more can you want! Alas, there will be no Jess though as I have to work (Booo to my job) but yey for Cat and my most delightful husband Mark who will be running the Stitches stall :)

Curiosity.haus are super lovely as not only do they run awesome craft fairs that I exhibit at, but they also now stock Stitches and Stars treats!

Hello!

Welcome back for Wednesday Wishes! Since the weather has started getting colder here, it's starting to really feel like winter...making it really difficult not to start getting excited about Christmas! :) However, I promised my husband :D that I would wait til after Bonfire Night to get festive, so no christmas wishes until then!

These cards are beautifully illustrated! I can imagine having them framed and dotted around the house for lovely bursts of inspiration! I really do adore the retro style of these! From 30one.

This wooden egg doll would add a cheeky smile to the mantlepiece, or maybe even nestled on one of our bookcases! From ModishVintage.

Ahhh, buttons are always going to catch my eye! I might even have to make a more regular button related feature, Button of the Week perhaps?! From LillianOlive.

Right, back to work now, I have two Craft Fairs within the next month (more details tomorrow!) so need to redesign my stall layout and get making more stock!

honeymoon = good times!

Back from our Honeymoon! We spent a week in Bournemouth and then chilled at home for a week.....perfect times!

60 Million Postcards is a bar we always walked past but never found time to go in, so glad we did this time though as it's amazing! The decor is super fantastic, a complete mish-mash of old furniture and knick-knacks, so dreamy!

The oceanarium is my favourite place to visit in Bournemouth! :)

Monkey World is Mark's favourite place!

Its so nice to be home and settling into married life! :) Sadly Mark has to return to work tomorrow but I'm at home til friday, which gives me plenty of time to work on my business!

heheheehhe, the local park has been revamped! The coolest part is the tiny trampoline!

Bouncing is awesome, you can't fail to be cheerful!

Not only did we explore the park, but I also made a start on the wedding bouquets! eep! Less than 2 weeks to go!

Lincoln Adventure!

Yesterday me and Fi went on a Lincoln adventure as she needed to hand in her keys at her old house (yey for her moving back to Nottingham!)

Wow, how full on is this shop! I saw this and instantly thought of my friend who loves russian dolls!

Fi treated Mark and I to these adorable little beach huts! How cute! It's true, we love the seaside!

And she also brought these buttons to help create the button bouquets! Best Maid of Honour ever!

Once we got back to Notts we spent the rest of the evening watch Supernatural and making a start on the bouquets! Exciting times....less than 4 weeks until the wedding! :)

And my nerdy toy side is happy as I have added this lovely back into my collection!

Wedding Sneak Peeks!

Hello!
After last weeks illness, I'm mostly back on track now, although, alas, so tired still!

However, wedding excitement still carries on! After obsessively buying buttons (and receiving some kind donations!) I've started to put together the Bouquets! I'm not a massive fan of flowers (darn hayfever an' all) and since I adore bright colours, plastic and upcycling, button bouquets were the perfect solution!

This bundle of goodness was delivered last week! The most amazing cake toppers made by Skunkboy Creatures! I'm such a tease, you'll have to wait til after the day to see them, but I cannot recommend Katie enough! She is a lovely person to deal with and her work is ridiculously beautiful! So in love with them!

Wednesday Wishes #5

Howdy! Busy times at home! New double glazing doors, the living room is now damp-proofed, wedding plans are going well....good times!

However, there are a few non material things I wish for this week!

Time with Mark! Due to his work shifts we are seeing each other less at the moment :( but still, at least when we are together it's super lovely! :)

Which also leads to wishing for more time with Elvis....

He's such a adorable dog, and so loving! We both also wish for a second pup to keep him company but wedding first!

Lastly, more time for creating! This necklace is quite different to what I normally make, but I was so inspired by the new dahlia beads at work! (The best perk about being stock supervisor is choosing new ranges!)

So really, Mark and I just need to focus on getting our business' off the ground, which would enable us to work from home, see more of Elvis and save up for future pup! That would be living the dream!

Motivation Monday!

hello!
In order to keep myself motivated, I'm introducing a new feature! Motivation Monday will aim to keep me on the straight and narrow workwise, and hopefully even inspire you too!

Tomorrow I have the epic task of sorting out the spare room/studio/dumping ground!
It's going to be tough but I keep looking at pretty workspaces, which help me to picture how my studio can (and will) look!

Firstly, happy father's day to all lovely dads!
Papa Woods is truly an awesome person. He has been a constant support from keeping me on the right track with a quiet word, to turning up at every craft fair I do, he is always there for me (and all our family). I love his cheeky sense of humour, the way he can say so much in so few words and his neverending selection of checked shirts! He's the parent most people think I look like and has given me many traits from a love of tea, crime stories and most importantly, a solid sense of self.

Crikey, after another manic monday at work (honestly, who knew bead shops could be so demanding!) I'm so tired I fell asleep on the sofa! This is partly due to elvis being tired and snuggly too! Who can resist a cute, sleepy puppy....not me, that's for sure!

So here's a sneaky peak at a few of the selection of treats ready to be put onto etsy tomorrow! Exciting times!

Well, well, well! Sorry for the lack of blogging yesterday! Mark met me from work and we went to visit a pub that someone had suggested for our wedding meal! By the time we got home I was far too sleepy to write anything coherent!

Prompt number 2 was
Create 3 to 5 simple, accomplishable goals for your 30 day journal challenge. What are some things that you hope to accomplish through this adventure?

I didn't want to overload myself so I kept to 3 goals! I'm really enjoying this challenge, its a perfect opportunity to experiment with text and layout!

Howdy! As promised, here are the front cover and first page of my journal challenge!

(I think I love that frame stamp too much!) The first prompt was;
Journal Prompt 1: Create an introduction page. This can be an introduction of yourself or of your journal. This is kind of like the title page for your journal.
So I thought I'd go for more of a 'lets go!' type vibe rather than an introduction :)

I'm happy with it, and am looking forward to getting on with the rest of it!

The other day I came downstairs, ready to start the day (well, stumbling towards the teapot!) when I found this card that Mark had made for me!

How adorable! (both Mark and the card!) I really think that Mark is beyond talented, he really does amaze me with how his work has evolved and every day I look forward to seeing the sketches he has done!

Today I sent out my first etsy order! Good times! I also taught the second part of my resin workshop and it was lovely! The ladies were so, so delightful and we had such a laugh and creted some beautiful pendants too!

But for now, I need to research Honeymoon plans! (eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!) As Mark made has some awesome ideas so now I need to get stuck in! Happy, happy times!

Yey for SFreedPhotography, X-men and Little Big Planet!

Yesterday I was happily surprised to find an email from SFreedPhtography, telling me that they had included my Fly Free card in their etsy treasury! Zut alors!

How awesome is that! My very first treasury! I'm so excited, it really did make my day!

Mark and I also went to the cinema after work to see X-men First Class, which we really enjoyed!

By far my favourite of the X-men films, I can't wait to see what happens next!

Due to the ps3 network being down (grumble at hackers!) we have received a welcome back pack, which excitingly means we now own Little Big Planet!

I know it has been out a while, but it's a game that I lways thought looked awesome! Now I'm watching Mark play it and I'm in love, it's adorable! I recommend it to everyone, it's such fun! :)

Movie Monday: Lars and the real girl

Music Monday has evolved into media monday! *makes nerdy pokemon evolving music* Which is awesome as it gives me much more freedom for blogging!

I've only just finished watching Lars and the Real Girl, which is one of the sweetest movies I have ever seen! Ryan Gosling was really surprising as before I've only seen him play smart, self assured characters, like in Fracture and Murder by Numbers, but he's adorable in this film, in all his misfitty, inept glory. This clip shows my favourite scene, which to be honest, made my heart smile :)

Bleargh...must of this week I been so ill! I've been so dizzy that moving was almost impossible and couldn't get my stomach to settle at all :( Alas!

So mostly I've been snuggling on the sofa with Elvis, but I also managed....

drinking lots of tea! Tea is my favourite drink, top brands include Yorkshire, Miles and Bothams. I also like Earl Grey, Clipper's Assam with Vanilla and Lee Rosy's Vanilla tea!

I also read alot, in particular I've been re-reading Neil Gaiman's Sandman Series. I cannot describe how amazing this series is, the man is a genius! Jilly Cooper is my comfort author, I always have one of her books on the go, I think my favourite is Score!

Silent Hill is my favourite movie, I love it so much! But I've also watched Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein (which always makes me cry), X-men 2 and 3 as Mark hadn't seen them and 2012. I'm not a big fan of diaster movies and 2012 did nothing to change my mind. Also I think John Cusack was an odd choice for the lead actor for that type of film.

I've also spent my time wanting to dye my hair again, I miss the pink!

So there you go, not the most exciting week, but hopefully next week will be more productive!

mwah ha ha! I'm so happy for the recent rainy days we've had! This summer business is too hot and humid for me!

Last night was the best nights sleep that I've had in a while and I know its because of the cooler weather! A girl at work thinks I have reverse SAD (seasonal affective disorder) but I really think it's just because I'm a winter baby! I don't mind spring and autumn, just those summer days that are ridulously hot!

Apparently the weather is going to be worse (or better ;p) tomorrow! Good times!

Now if only I could find a pair of frog wellies like the ones I had as a child!

Yey for new piercings! And yey again for my new sunglasses!

People seem to be a tad divided on the piercings, but then some people are coming round to them already, so tis not all bad! I got them done at Raw in Nottingham, and I recommend them highly! The woman is so friendly and really makes you feel at home!
The painting in the background is one Mark got in an art trade, isn't it awesome! The lines are so clean and perfect!

This week, Mark, Hana, Rae and me went to see Alkaline Trio on Wednesday! Good times! The band was awesome, and we had a fantastic night! After the gig we had drinks and chat, which gave us some inspiration and ideas....more on this soon!

Saturday was a craft fair at the Art Organisation which went really well! deaconfour, Hanmade beads and me shared a stall and had a lovely time! Sadly I forgot my camera (apologies for the old photo!) but we got to meet some lovely other stall holders! Monster Magic and Socksy Beasts who make the most amazing monsters! PepperPi, Pick Me (her stall was so beautiful *swoon*) and Yum were all so nice and friendly and had beautiful stalls!

Despite the day being bright, sunny and hot (meaning Stitches was sleepy, sweaty and pink) once we got home the heavens open and thunder rumbled! I do love a good storm!

Excitingly its Fiona's Birthday tomorrow and she's coming to Nottingham to visit! Hurrah! I can't wait!

After going to see Mark's Parents and Gran today, and being treated to one of his mum's epic sunday lunches, I'm super tired!

Things I Love Tuesday: Tea!

Ahh tea, beautiful beverage that you are! Always perfect regardless of anything! I prefer mine milky but strong (i hate how some people think milky means weak!) and no sugar! Mark's is milk with 2 (zut alors, tis too sweet!) sugars, Elvis takes it however you have it! ;) Its ridiculous, most dogs respond to commands, but if I want Elvis to do something (like come inside from the garden) then all I have to say is 'Elvis, cuppa tea!' and he runs in to sit near the kettle!

How quaint is this tea set! How could you not say oui to a cuppa!

Hello again!
This weekend was spent at Sneinton Market at the Apples, Pears and Crafty Wares Fair!

Here's a closer look at my stall, I think it gets better each time, but there's still alot of work to do on it!

After the fair I met Hana and we went over to West Brigford to check out the Bead shop there and the Design Circus Shop. Design Circus is beautiful and filled with the nicest items!

Mark sold a Canvas this week! Sadly, it was one of my favourites, but at least I can have a print of it!

Today I started to dye my hair again! Although trying to bleach out years of dark dye is not easy! No photos yet, as its mid stage (need more peroxide tomorrow!)

Greetings!
Yesterday was lovely, it was Mark's Birthday and we had an awesome day! We woke up for bacon sandwiches and presents!

Check out the recycled wrapping! Then we took Elvis for a walk in the park and then to the local pub for a delish dinner!

These are the pretty flowers Mark brought to cheer up the mantle piece!

And here's Elvis watching the birds in the park's aviary, hehe he stands like people!

Then we went round to my brother's for a family celebration of playing cluedo! Dad and I were the champions after cleverly deducing it was Colonel Mustard, on the patio, with the poison! Zut alors!

Things I Like Tuesday: Charity Shops

How beautiful is my new old display cabinet! I had been eyeing it up for a while and today it had been reduced to £10! Then my awesome Mum treated me to it! While my wonderful dad helped me transport it home! Good times!

Last week I treated myself to these glass items! The vases are just so pretty, and I'm planning on turning the two glass jars into terrariums! Those will look sweet on the mantle piece.

I was going to sit all four on the forementioned display cabinet but was worried that the sheer beauty might make me pass out, seriously, I can't walk past the cabinet without clapping! Plus I turned round earlier to see Elvis had climbed onto the arm of the sofa to lick the cabinet, so I know he approves! Mark seemed quite pleased too, and is already trying to think what we can display in it! Its a bit like having a pretty new note/sketchbook....you really want to use it, but only for something special, using a nice pen and your best handwriting! (Please say you do this too!)

I do love the Help The Aged shop on our high street, Mark always laughs at me as I can't wak past it without looking around! But it's like a treasure chest and by treating ourselves we're donating to a good cause so it's a win win situation!

Well this week has been less hectic but still busy! Last week's craft fair was less busy then expected, but the weather was awful and it was a Bank holiday so I think that influenced a lot of people. However, I did get a lot of lovely feedback from the people who did visit, so tis all good!

Special Day: Matt's Birthday!

Phew, after a busy week working on craftness, then a craft fair yesterday, today was my brother's 30th Birthday! We had a lovely day, finishing with a murder mystery party, and for once I wasn't the killer! (the first two, I was the murderer both times!)

I'm not sure that my brother would want his photos online so instead I'll include some things that he likes!

I remember watching Saved By The Bell all the time with Matt, we also used to love California Dreams too! Aww, TV used to be awesome!

Matt also liked washing machines, I guess we all have our things!

Lego! Even now lego is still a big love, in fact alot of his presents were lego related!

We built a whole lego town when we were growing up, which took up all the floor in Matt's bedroom. I love the fact that Matt never minded when I made pirates invade the village or that I introduced a ghost to live in one of the houses!

Happy Birthday Matt, you really are the best, most delightful brother ever!

A while back I did a craft fair, and there was a lady on the stall next to us selling lovely canvas'. At the end of the fair we got talking about my items and she offered to donate some old jewellery items she no longer used. On Monday she popped into work to drop the items off and refused any payment for them! How lovely!

Zut alors! Due to our internet connection being snatched away, I haven't been able to blog! However, this came in quite handy as I had a very busy week!

On Saturday I was at the Apples and Pears and Crafty Wares Craft Fair which was awesome! Although Becky and I had to battle with the wind, we had a lovely time!

Unfortunately I have no photos (I really need to replace my camera) but Becky should be emailing some photos soon! So instead I'll include a few photos of some of the items my delightful customers snapped up!

Also this week, Elvis recovered from his snip and chip operation and is back to his excitable self! Mark spent Saturday working with our friend James helping kids paint a wall for sports relief! Good times all round!

Mark Oliver Everett is truely a genius. Each song is amazing and takes you through so many emotions. I love how although he's been through some really shitty times (to say the least) but still gets amazed by how awesome life can be.
My favourite song is probably Last Stop This Town, which also has a very cool video, involving turning a carrot into a mini singing Mark!

A belated Tuesday post! I had my hair done yesterday, so it influenced the topic of Things I Like Tuesday! I love bright, colourful hair, it always cheers me up to see un-natural hair colours, so here's some photo inspiration!
Firstly, here's the new hair! Turquoise will be added in about 6 weeks or so!

Skye Sweetnam - I do have a weak spot for girly pop rock, and Skye sings a catchy tune and looks lovely to boot!
